About Me
Hi, it's Farida!
I am an interdisciplinary and mixed-method researcher with key interests in research & policy related to gender inclusion and access to mental health services. I started out as an economics and finance student and eventually migrated to the rest of the social sciences (through a masters in social research methods) to pursue my interests in sociological and anthropological studies. During my masters, I developed an interest in systematic reviewing, especially in the field of mental health research.
Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in linguistics, with a focus on the psycholinguistic barriers to entry into the Egyptian workplace for women.
Alongside my primary research, I am working on a few projects related to early childhood development and livelihoods in refugee and crisis settings.
I also like to make rugs, which you can check out here!
